Ad Text: [Starts with a person humming] [Male voice]: “Honey, should I vote for a really qualified judge even if her jingle is stuck in my head? [Female voice]: A jingle? It can’t be worse than that Cars for Kids one. That still haunts me. Play it. [Male voice]: Okay but don’t blame me when you can’t stop singing it. [Hear Music]: First a prosecutor, and now a judge. When doing right Megan Shanahan will never budge. [Female voice]: So, wait, she’s a former prosecutor and now a judge? Play it again. I missed her name. [Hear Music]. [Female voice]: That’s a hokey jingle but if Megan Shanahan is a former prosecutor and now a judge, she’s got my vote for the Ohio Supreme Court. [Voiceover]: you don’t need a jingle to support Megan Shanahan. She’s a former prosecutor and a judge. Megan Shanahan for Ohio Supreme Court.”

Discussion and Analysis

Analysis by Randy Ludlow, retired senior reporter, Columbus Dispatch

Shanahan’s twice-heard jingle at the heart of this commercial is not exactly memorable stuff as a husband and wife discuss her qualifications as a judge and former prosecutor and try to reinforce name recognition.
