Ad Text: [Starts with ‘dun-dun’ sound from ‘Law & Order’] The narrator says, “In the criminal justice system, prosecutors bring the charges and judges make sure justice is done. Prosecutors have to be tough and judges have to be fair, and in the Ohio criminal justice system, Megan Shanahan has been both a prosecutor and a judge. Sending hundreds of dangerous criminals to prison, no prosecutor was tougher than Megan Shanahan. ‘A child rapist was sent to prison today. Before she won the case, Prosecutor Megan Shanahan told the jury…’ and then Megan Shanahan became a judge. With more than a dozen years on the bench, Judge Shanahan has presided over some of the most difficult criminal and civil cases in Ohio. You want law and order on the Ohio Supreme Court? Then you want Judge Megan Shanahan, a defender of the Constitution. Shanahan, Judge Megan Shanahan for Ohio Supreme Court.”

Discussion and Analysis
Analysis by Randy Ludlow, retired senior reporter, Columbus Dispatch
Lest voters forget, Shanahan wants them to know she has been both a prosecutor and a judge. She has been a tough prosecutor, who has sent hundreds of criminals to prison, and a fair judge, her spot asserts. The bottom line, and it’s a common one among judicial candidates, is that she is all law-and-order.
